We’ve made an update on our main page for By Order of the Queen, check it out below: Continue reading By Order of the Queen’s Production is moving right along!
I was at a local game store recently and heard about one of Peter Newland’s recent games. The line I was told was that the game takes under a minute to play. How weird as a concept….. and as a fledgling game designer myself I became incredibly interested in how something like that would even work. Then the theme came in – Drag Racing…… and it all makes sense now.
Our Kickstarter campaign is currently live HERE and we’ve had requests to post the rules as soon as possible. We waited because we are actively working on the rulebook itself, but all the writing is finished. I’ll present the raw text here, adding pics for examples as necessary. We finally did it! We hit some buttons on our Kickstarter page and By Order of the Queen is now available through Kickstarter. The campaign will run until March 2nd 9:00 PM PST.
Sometimes when you play games you feel like there MUST be some kind of weird backstory involved in the creation process of the game in front of you. With Yukon Salon, I’ve got to assume there is a range of answers here, from someone having a mighty mighty beard to someone else thinking the name makes for a funny rhyme. Either way, we now have a game for all your Lumberjack beardtrimming needs. Also, style their pets too, you know, those bears they are always rolling around with. Another Deck Builder??! This era of board gaming sometimes feels similar to the time that Magic the Gathering was released, where everyone and their dog was releasing a new TCG into the market. Everyone has a deck builder game, or a twist on the deck builder mechanic. Heck, WE (at Junk Spirit Games) even have a deck builder coming down the pipeline….. But for me, this style of game is about the only type of game that my wife will play with me, so I madly buy every deck builder that looks like they half tried to keep from having to play 15 billion rounds of Dominion (which I love). Mystic Vale from AEG hits a lot of the best points of deck building while adding a bit of tableau building.
As some of you may know we were selected as one of 10 Indie boardgame groups to show off our first game JunKing for PAX West’s Indie Megabooth Tabletop. You can check out our official subpage here:
With GenCon behind us we move to the next two conventions that we will be at. They are nearly back to back but both in Seattle. Here is the quick rundown of what we are doing in the next month or so:
We’ve been a bit silent about our progress on By Order of the Queen lately as we move through playtesting but I wanted to get a word out about upcoming conventions.
We’ve been teasing #projectbaroness here, on facebook and on twitter for a few months now and today is the day that we can officially get rid of the hashtag name. We at Junk Spirit Games are happy to announce our next game: By Order of the Queen. Continue reading By Order of the Queen – officially announced from Junk Spirit Games
